Pre-hospital medical emergency system for the general public
What is it about?
In China, many heart patients die because they miss the critical four-minute rescue window. Urbanization has delayed emergency vehicle response times, making bystanders the most important rescuers. This project helps the public perform first aid for heart patients and tackles challenges in early emergency care.
As the team leader, I handle all design work and manage the project.
Background
First aid has three stages: pre-hospital care, hospital treatment, and intensive care. In China, the first stage is underdeveloped. Each year, about 540,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrests, mostly due to delays in rescue and complications, not the primary disease.
The critical rescue window is 4 minutes, but ambulances often take over 10 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, bystanders rarely step in to help during emergencies.

SDI AED (cardiac defibrillator)
SDI AED is different from general AED in that this product is small in size, easy to carry and store, and more suitable for pre-hospital first aid.
